This TechBlend installation in a chemical processing plant consists of triplex PD pumps to meet ingredient specs of low viscosity, E&H mass flow meters to yield 0.15% metering accuracy, Allen Bradley VFD controllers, Allen Bradley PLC and 15 inch Operator Panel. Sonic's extensive experience with mechanical and electrical systems lends us expertise in system design and integration. Having studied the customer's needs and objectives, we were able to design and install a completely automated blending system that advanced the customer out of a sluggish and labor intensive batch-driven process into a streamlined, cost-effective and labor efficient approach. |

As the customer evolved from batch mixing to a TechBlend continuous system, like the one seen here, tremendous savings in labor and cycle time were soon realized:
3 hour cycle time reduced to 30 minutes as weighing, compounding, mixing and transfer pumping were eliminated
Materials were drawn from bulk/totes and blended in-line en route to a holding tank
Labor and time savings led to approx $0.07/lb savings per batch
Waste was virtually eliminated
Accuracy improvements from approx 0.65% accuracy to 0.1% |
