About Us
Since 1955, Sonic Corp. has prided itself on continuity and stability. Our average staff tenure ranges between 12 years to 40 years.
Previously in its history, Sonic Corp. was a division of General Signal Corp, in Stamford CT. General Signal manufactured a wide range of process equipment including mixers, controls and electrical equipment, as well as the Sonolator homogenizer.
Mixing Equipment for the Chemical Industry
Sonic Corp was essentially founded on providing high-pressure Sonolator systems to the chemical industry to process paper pulp dispersions, silicone oil emulsions and textile fiber emulsions to companies like Dow Corning, DuPont, P&G, Kimberly Clark and others.
We now develop customized multiple-feed homogenizing and emulsifying systems that meter water, bulk liquids, aqueous phases, and oil phases to create emulsions instantly and continuously. Systems with 2 to 6 streams have been used to process everything from shampoo and conditioner, lotions and creams to silicone and wax emulsions.
Expansion to other Mixing Methods, Design and Fabrication
Along the way, the new principal owners purchased a colloid mill line and propeller mixer from Patterson Industries. In the early 2000’s Sonic became heavily involved in the design and fabrication of custom in-line blending systems to provide labor-saving multiple-feed blending solutions to its various customers.
As we’ve grown, we have added blending system, metering and pumping system design and fabrication to our resume. When it comes to custom process skid manufacturing, you want a trusted partner who can deliver on design, form and function. Our history has prepared us to be that for you.
Based on extensive experience inside factories owned and operated by Fortune 500 companies, Sonic has developed a commitment to customization of its systems that allows us to stand apart from the crowd. Where other suppliers might force you to accept their standards, we accept and abide by yours!
Our goal is to establish long-term relationships so that our clients can move forward with complete confidence, knowing we’re always here.
